Augusta National Golf Club In The Snow

by ATG on February 22, 2010

This winter has been tough. The South is not immune either. The photos below of Augusta National were taken last week after a winter snow storm swept through the South including Atlanta (home of ATG).  The moment I saw these, I knew they had to be shared (hat tip to my good friend for sharing). Side note: I was going to post the location of each hole, but take a guess on each picture and then hold the mouse over the image…see if you got it right.

Really cool pictures. Amazing to think how green and beautiful it will be in a month or so.

My brother, Dan Lewis, who has worked the Masters as a yellow hatted ranger for 24 years, sent me your photos. We never think of Augusta as any thing other than a green, azalea bloomin’ open roofed chapel of golf. The white stuff, which we in the Philly area are pretty familiar with this winter, is never something we associate with Augusta. Having seen it, either #10 or #11 fairway would make one hell of a toboggan (sp) run.

Dave,

I think you pinned the major point as to why these are interesting. Thanks for the comment.
